Course Offerings

Whether lay person or professional rescuer, MEEI has the course to suit your needs.  Besides having numerous course offerings, through a variety of training affiliations, we will do all the work and we still believe in house calls!  And, we will come to you.   Our courses are presented so as to help ease fears about learning and increase confidence in dealing with emergencies when they do occur.

MEEI offers basic level courses intended for the non-professional rescuer who is most likely to be first on the scene when a co-worker or loved one has an accident or takes ill.  In these courses participants learn vital skills such as:

• How to access the area’s emergency medical services system
• How to recognize and care for life-threatening emergencies (such as breathing problems, heart attack, cardiac arrest and/or severe bleeding)
• How to minimize the effects of injury or illness
• How to respond appropriately and give correct care for sudden illnesses or injuries that are not immediately life-threatening
• How to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease

Professional level courses are most frequently taken by those interested in EMS.  However, many workplaces train to this level,  including healthcare professionals, therapists, athletic trainers, coaches, lifeguards, and others with a duty to provide care in emergency situations.

All of these courses combine lecture with video and other media, utilize high-quality materials and maximize hands-on practice to enhance retention in a comfortable, non-threatening environment- perfect for workplace training.

We provide a wide range of topic specific programming to meet the unique needs of businesses, organizations, agencies and other groups.  This might include care for a particular illness or suggested response to a particular type of injury; it might be a workshop in safety planning or environmental hazard issues.

PLEASE NOTE
All our offerings are full service, contracted professional programs. Fees may be determined by the size of the group and whether there are multiple groups, travel or extended program considerations. Health insurance reimbursement is often available!
